Hotfix CPVS56E010 – For Citrix Provisioning Services 5.1 SP2 and 5.6
Issue(s) Resolved in this Hotfix
This hotfix addresses the following issues reported against Citrix Provisioning Services 5.1 Service Pack 2 and 5.6 release:
TR-9718: No information about routing and gateways is passed over to the OS.
TR-9605: Assigning DNS via personalities fails.
Note:
If the default gateway IP address configured in the bootstrap is set to something other than “0.0.0.0”, DNS server IP addresses and the DNS domain name entered in a client’s personality tab will be delivered to that client.
When that occurs, PVS’s linuxrc script, which runs early on in the boot process, will write DNS server and domain information into the system’s resolver configuration file (/etc/resolv.conf). However, if DHCP options 6 (DNS servers) and 15 (DNS domain name) are enabled in the DHCP server handling this client then, when this client’s DHCP daemon launches at system startup, it will use DNS information provided by the DHCP server and write it to the same resolver configuration file. This action will effectively erase DNS information written to this file by PVS’s linuxrc script. Therefore, in order to appropriately use DNS server information contained in a client’s personality tab, DHCP options 6 and 15 must not be used simultaneously.
TR-9591: CentOS 5.3 and RHEL 5.3 systems freeze at various stages of the imaging process.
